Activities & Events
At Cliffdale Care Home we provide a varied programme of activities throughout the year, which many of our residents enjoy. There are concerts, art and craft sessions, visits from the local nursery and Beavers group, themed meals, a vintage tea party, a summer barbecue, church services and parties.
In addition to these sociable occasions, because every resident is unique, with his or her own interests, needs, likes and dislikes, we think it is important to recognise, support and build upon the activities and themes that make life meaningful to that person. We can do that by communicating effectively with residents and their families and friends, and by providing an environment which is conducive to their chosen activity. Of equal importance is the recognition that people may choose not to participate in the way in which we imagined, or at all. And whilst it might be great for a person to try something new, it might also be uncomfortable or bring up a difficulty we had not anticipated.
We think that the quality of the experience is as important as the specific types of activities, whilst recognising that most forms of activity have psychological or physiological benefits. Our staff team at Cliffdale wishes to support individuals to lead active, fulfilling lives with dignity.
